Seagate's Hornet/TapeStor Travan tape drive family offers cost-effective and reliable data protection for high performance desktop workstations and PC servers. Featuring 8 and 20 Gbyte capacities using either software or hardware data compression, Hornet Travan drives are available with ATAPI or SCSI interfaces, and transfer data at up to 7.2 bytes/hour. Reliability features include multi-level Error Correction Code for enhanced data integrity, self-cleaning heads that virtually eliminate the need for routine maintenance, and an MTBF of 320,000 hours. In addition, FastSense¿ technology minimizes backup/restore times by matching the tape speed with the host system speed.
